Welcome to our unofficial Disney blog where we share our thoughts about Walt Disney Imagineering and the Disney parks of yesterday and today.

Mitch

I currently work out of my home doing free-lance design. My childhood dream of working at Disneyland turned into several years of working in various Disney creative departments. I have a passion for 1950s and 60s Disneyland, 1970s Magic Kingdom, and 1980s EPCOT Center.

My many creative inspirations include Marc Davis, Herb Ryman, Blaine Gibson, Harper Goff, Sam McKim, Mary Blaire, Walt Disney, and my wife.

Lilly

My work experience at Disney lies mostly in entertainment and mostly at Walt Disney World. I grew up near Disneyland, so I confess I am slightly partial to that park, although years at Walt Disney World gave me as much passion for the Florida parks as I have for the parks in California. Iʼve spent a lot of time with characters, equity performers, and management. I have performed and opened shows.

My spare time was spent befriending cast members of all kinds and learning what is going on in all areas of the parks. My passion for the attractions led me to become particularly good friends with artists, writers and maintenance cast members, so I got in on a lot of secrets ;). I also met my co-writers on this blog through those friendships. While I was performing I became injured and had to work other jobs than the stage I was at. So I now have experience not only in entertainment, but merchandise, attractions, pin trading, food and beverage, and Iʼve even done a few technical things.

Stan

Professionally, I am a writer and content creator. Disney theme parks are a particular passion of mine and I am an active researcher and historian—visiting the theme parks often (I’ve been to all 12 Disney parks worldwide) and constantly learning all I can about the history of the parks and the brilliant and talented craftspeople who created and built them. Needless to say, meeting Lilly and Mitch through a mutual friend was a happy and life-changing experience.

While there are things I appreciate in most all of the parks, I’m partial to anything 1967 Disneyland Tomorrowland, 1970s Walt Disney World/Magic Kingdom, 1980s EPCOT Center, and Euro Disneyland/Disneyland Paris. My dream within a dream would include the return of Horizons and the restoration of the Imagination pavilion at EPCOT (#FixFutureWorld), a proper revamp of Tomorrowland at Disneyland and at Magic Kingdom, and more TLC and a new E-ticket attraction (and even a couple of C- or D-ticket attractions) at Disneyland Paris. And if I could go back in time, I would want to ride Ford Motor Company’s “Magic Skyway” attraction at the 1964/1965 New York World’s Fair.

I co-founded this blog for many reasons.  Above all, I wanted a website full of the things that interest me most. With many great years working as an artist and graphic designer for the Walt Disney Company behind me, I feel I have a lot to share. So sit back, relax, and enjoy some of the old-school mixed in with some of the best of today and tomorrow.
