WDW Fan Boys Podcast [Part 4]
Posted by Mitch
Join me on my latest WDW Fan Boys podcast appearance. The Fanboyzz and I talk about everything from old-school EPCOT Center to old-school Magic Kingdom (go figure!). Specifically, we go over how now-a-days attractions tend to be obnoxious from hundreds of yards away. We also talk about the gooood things going on right now at Walt Disney World (Fantasyland, etc.). And Tim mentions that Magic Kingdom should tear down Peter Pan's Flight.

I've been very interested in all the insightful thoughts and opinions expressed by all the bloggers on this site, but I can't stand to listen to these podcasters. I hope one day you'll summarize what I missed by not listening.
Frank- No one is saying you have to listen the podcasts. Like anything else you can but do not have to partake of what is being offered. I personally like these discussions in their audio form. Yeah it's an hour+ time commitment but it's a fun way to pass the time as I work or travel.
I love these podcasts for many reasons. I particularly like this discussion regarding the guest experience as they approach an attraction and how different tactics, good and bad, are used to attract people. I love how Soarin' is so popular but needs not attract people to itself in a TACKY way. I love how Small World in California has a VERY loud exterior yet at the same time it's entirely tasteful and aesthetically pleasing. I love how the very architecture of say Space Mountain draws people in. It does not require a bunch of tacky graphics and signage (although there is a little in MK) to do so.
Great episode.
I happen to really like "these podcasters." They offer an entertaining banter.
Fan Boy Tim-- I'm glad to know that you really *don't* want Peter Pan torn down. Lol.
I should clarify what I meant regarding Peter Pan's Flight. The attraction is in need of a major refurbishment. I don't want it removed entirely, what I want to see is significant upgrades to the ride system and the show scenes themselves. In it's current state I really don't think the wait times are at all defensible.
I figured as much. And I totally agree.
Thanks to all the Imagineering Disney fans who listen to us once, twice or weekly. It's definitely appreciated (especially the haters), and you're all invited to my house for cake. Or a Dole Whip if you see me at a park.
Because I'm always the last of the cohosts to chime in and usually just repeat what the guy before me said...thanks to all off our Imagineering Disney listeners. You're invited to my abode in Minnesota for mosquitos.
