Disney-MGM Opening Day and LiMOUSEine
Disney-MGM Studios opening day! What an interesting time for the Walt Disney Co. What an interesting little park. Remember... all previous Disney parks were super large and/or groundbreaking. Studios was a different story but had some merit nonetheless.
Mickey's "LiMOUSEine"?
The Disney Parks Blog shares: "That’s the one-and-only 40-foot LiMOUSEine that Mickey Mouse rode in style while on a 37-city tour promoting the opening of the Disney-MGM Studios. And what a sweet ride it was (that picture doesn’t do it justice!). Here are some of the LiMOUSEine’s features: Four cellular phones, a radio remote DJ booth, two Sony TVs with VCRs, and four sunroofs. But, the crown gem has to be that hood ornament: a 24-karat gold-plated Tinker Bell."
Wonderful photos submitted by Alfonso Martin.

Wow, I'm pretty certain that LiMOUSEine was the same one that was taken to the local 'Disney in the Park' events that took place in Lake Eola park in Downtown Orlando during the early to mid-90's. During these events, Disney would have musicals on stage, games for kids (with old/surplus Disney store products; I got a Captain EO there!) and fireworks at night. One of the years, my family won a ride in a Disney limousine from the event. My memories aren't clear on what the actual limousine looked like but the photos you posted stir a strong sense of recognition. I'm pretty certain it was that maroon color.
