Homemade Model of Disneyland- 1950s
Isn't this great?? This young man created a scale model of Disneyland using items found around the house. Much of the model is created from clay he made using mud from the yard. Look at the Jungle Cruise portion. I love it!
Next, the family is seen sitting in this little mystery spot. Can you guess where they are? The tiny blue tiles at the top of the photo made up the lower portion of Tomorrowland's World Clock. You know, the clock that would tell you the current time of any place in the world (except Newfoundland who is an hour and a half ahead of Eastern Standard Time for some reason).
A big thanks to Kathy Alatorre for sending these fantastic photos and to her brother who made the model.

What a young genius! I wonder what he's doing now.
I lOVE that kid! Here's why. He has a basic layout of Disneyland but the most finished part is The Jungle Cruise! Boy after my own heart.
Just think, nowadays Disney would have had sued that boy and his family out the wazoo AND banned him + family from their parks indefinitely just because he made that replica without proper consent and licensing from Disney.
